I am now going to look more closely at 6 genres so I can work out which genre I would like 
my new magazine to look like, I will also look at what type of music the genre involves, key
Artist that make music from that type of genre, leading magazines that cover the genre and
Summarise who the primary target audience are for the magazine.

R&B

R&B is often abbreviated for Rhythm and Blues. The name was originally used by record companies to describe recordings marketed predominantly to urban African Americans, at the time when 'rocking, urbane and jazz based music with a heavy, insistent beat' was getting more popular. RnB is a genre of popular African-American music that was originated in the 1940's

The main primary audience for R&B music are female teenagers. These are people who are in school/college/university and will be discussing and sharing links on twitter, facebook etc so they will always know what new and what seemed to be 'cool'. Most of these songs are aimed at females due to the stereo type of females feeling heartbroken and always seeking for love, and rnb is known for expressing love so females can relate to the songs. They will also be known for buying magazine aswell, RnB magazines are; Vibe, Floss, and bass.

Rock

Rock music is a genre of music that begun as rock and roll in the united states in the 1950s and has devoloped into a variety of styls in the 1960s particularly in the united states and united kingdom. rock music is influenced by rhythm and blues and country music.

I would say that the target audience for people who listen to rock music is for any gender and the age range is anything between 15 till about 50 as it was a big thing in the early 90s - late 80s. People who think of rock would associate people who listen to it as Goth's who wear all black, do funky things with there hair and 'don't have a heart' type people.
